Harappan Civilization - Some Other Important Facts

  • The most distinctive antiquities of the Harappan or Indus Valley Civilization are engraved paintings and articles on seals made of cellar stone.
  • Culture - A group of antiquities that are of a particular style and are generally found to be associated with a particular geographical area and period together, is called culture
  • The Harappan civilization is named after the first excavation site of this civilization in 1921.
  • Evidences of cow, horse and camel are not found from any site of Indus valley Civilisation but possibly they were acquainted with them. Bone of camel is found from Kalibanga. The people of Kalibanga were not acquainted with lion.
